Postcard from Barbados (part 4)!

The Barbados study abroad trip is winding down as students finished up their final projects and had their last day of class on Thursday. Here’s one last postcard before they head home in three days.

After finishing her presentation on Day 23 about Asian-Caribbean identity and how her own identity as an Asian-American correlates, Elizabeth Lee spent Day 24 at a Harbor Lights Extravaganza with the rest of her classmates:

“Today we listened to some of our classmates present. I’m actually really enjoying these presentations! I headed back to my room to nap once again. Feeling better after taking it easy for a couple days. Knowing I’ll be home after this weekend makes the rest of this week seem not so daunting.

Went to the Harbor Lights Extravaganza for dinner and a show! It was so entertaining! Definitely one of the highlights of my trip thus far. I was trying really hard to maintain being a student over being a ‘tourist,’ but it was nice to just sit back and soak it all in. I can’t emphasize how different the tourist or honeymooner experience here on the island versus study abroad. Glad I’ve been able to experience a bit of both.

Highlights of the night: live band, amazing shrimp kabobs, pina coladas, stilt walkers, fire swallowing, limbo, dancers, acrobats, and more.

Looking forward to the rest of the weekend as the trip comes to a close 🙂

Ralina saved the best for last.”
