Seattle Career Exploration: Undergrads visit Costco Headquarters

Costco visit

Julie Peterson-Snyder (second from right) hosts undergraduate students at Costco Headquarters. Leezel Ramos (left) joins as UW Comm’s Academic & Career Advisor.

Two UW Communication undergraduate students took part in the Department’s “Career Kickstart: Seattle Career Exploration” series with a visit to Costco Wholesale headquarters in Issaquah.

Comm alum and proud Husky Julie Peterson-Snyder (B.A., 1986) hosted the group, the second such visit UW Comm students have made to Costco. She has also visited campus for several mentor chats.

Peterson-Snyder and three other team members gave a 90-minute, comprehensive, fun, informative presentation on corporate communications. And while Costco does not have a public relations or advertising department, the company’s great reputation – with clients and employees – and their huge success speaks to the leadership’s deep commitment to their internal and external clients.

Meet the mentors:

Julie Peterson-Snyder (a proud UW Comm Husky)
Analyst | IS Communications

Don Coleman, Jr (a proud WSU Cougar)

Tammy Dollar, Director

Ann Haberl (another proud UW Husky)

Joining the students were UW Comm staff Leezel Ramos, Academic and Career Advisor; and Alumni Affairs Director Victoria Sprang. To learn about more Career Exploration opportunities, email leezelr@uw.edu.
