The UW was busy in China last week during a trip used to strengthen ties with international business leaders and spread the Pac-12’s globalization initiative. The Department of Communication was present in big ways – here are some of the articles published throughout the weekend that chronicle UW Comm’s involvement:
An account of the first UW Innovation Summit, where Communication professor Gina Neff spoke, was picked up by UW’s News and Information team: http://www.washington.edu/news/2015/11/13/industry-leaders-gather-at-first-ever-university-of-washington-innovation-summit-in-shanghai/
In a blog for the Office of Global Affairs about connecting Washington to the world, Gina Neff writes about what innovation looks like at Disney Research China: http://www.washington.edu/globalaffairs/2015/11/13/uw-innovators-visit-disney-research-china/
Recent alumnus Erik Erickson and journalism student Olivia Fuller were on assignment for The Daily – Erickson mostly covering events related to the basketball game and Fuller producing videos for Double Shot. The Seattle Times published two of their pieces together: http://www.seattletimes.com/sports/uw-husky-basketball/uw-huskies-mens-basketball-tips-off-weeklong-trip-to-china-with-visit-to-alibaba/
