The Puget Sound chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) recently awarded Catherine McCool its statewide Sally Heet scholarship.
PRSA established the Sally Heet Memorial Scholarship in 1986. A University of Washington graduate, Heet was one of the most influential press secretaries on Capitol Hill. The Puget Sound chapter presents the annual award to an outstanding public relations student from a college or university in Washington who has demonstrated a high level of academic achievement.
McCool will be starting her senior year with the UW Communication department this fall. On campus, she is active member of the PRSSA club, and will serve as Vice President of Communications next year. Off campus, she volunteers for Sweet Alchemy Ice Cream as Marketing and Social Media Coordinator. This summer she will be working for UW Marketing and Communications as the Social Media Content and Strategy Intern, and for Fat Cork Champagne as the Marketing and Communications Intern.
